The JMI diaphragm coupling is a high-performance flexible coupling that uses metal diaphragm packs as its elastic elements. It features a single-section structural design and is mainly intended for applications with relatively short transmission distances and high requirements for transmission accuracy and operational stability. In its structural layout, this model fully takes into account the dual demands for compactness and reliability in industrial equipment. One half coupling is designed with a counterbored bore, allowing secure fixation to the shaft end, which effectively improves assembly efficiency and connection stability. As a result, it is widely used in fans, pumps, compressors, power generation equipment, and various medium- to high-speed drive systems.
The core of the JMI diaphragm coupling lies in its metal elastic diaphragm assembly. The diaphragms are typically composed of multiple layers of high-strength stainless steel thin plates stacked together and alternately connected to the driving and driven flanges on the same bolt circle by means of high-precision bolts. This structural arrangement enables the diaphragms to transmit torque while simultaneously compensating for axial, radial, and angular misalignment through elastic deformation. In doing so, it effectively alleviates additional stresses caused by installation inaccuracies, operational deformation, or thermal expansion. Compared with traditional gear couplings, the JMI diaphragm coupling generates lower reaction forces during misalignment compensation, helping to reduce loads on bearings and shaft ends and thereby extending the service life of the entire transmission system.
