The LM(ML) elastic plum blossom coupling is the basic type in this series and offers significant vibration damping and misalignment compensation capabilities. It is widely applied in various industrial drive systems. The coupling absorbs instantaneous shock loads through the compression deformation of its elastic elements, effectively converting peak torque into elastic potential energy during equipment startup, braking, or load fluctuations, and releasing it gradually. This helps protect core components such as motors and gearboxes from damage. The damping properties of the elastic material can effectively attenuate vibrations and noise during the transmission process, improving the working environment and making it particularly suitable for industrial applications that require low noise and high stability.
In practical applications, due to installation errors, temperature changes, or slight load deformations, there are often relative misalignments between two shafts. The elastic elements of the LM coupling can compensate for such misalignments by radial, axial, and angular deformations, preventing additional loads from being applied to the shafts and bearings, ensuring smooth operation of the drive system. Its radial compensation range can reach 0.1 to 0.5 mm, angular compensation can range from 1° to 3°, and axial compensation can reach 1 to 5 mm, meeting the precision requirements of most industrial applications.
The LM(ML) coupling demonstrates excellent versatility in adapting to various application scenarios. By adjusting the material and hardness of the elastic elements, it can be precisely tuned to different working conditions. In precision machine tools, models with low hardness (60A-70A) polyurethane elastic elements can achieve high-precision power transmission and absorb cutting vibrations to ensure processing accuracy. In general machinery like fans and pumps, models with high hardness (80A-90A) elastic elements can withstand larger torques and meet the demands of continuous operation. The LM elastic coupling is suitable for drive shafts with frequent starts and reversals, and is widely used in textile machinery, printing equipment, and mining auxiliary conveyors. However, it is not suitable for low-speed heavy loads or applications where axial dimensions are restricted and the replacement of elastic elements is difficult to realign. Its working temperature range is from -35°C to +80°C, with the ability to briefly withstand temperatures up to 100°C, meeting the temperature requirements of most industrial environments.
