DC Type Crowned-Gear Drum Coupling

The DC type drum gear drum coupling is a high-performance coupling specifically designed for hoisting transmission systems, primarily used to connect speed reducers with drums. It adopts a drum tooth design, capable of sustaining large radial loads and transmitting high torque, but is not suitable for axial load transmission. The overall structure consists of an externally toothed sleeve with drum-shaped teeth, a flange internal gear ring with connecting flange, a load-bearing ring with outer spherical surface, inner and outer end covers, and sealing rings, also equipped with a positioning wear indicator, lubrication oil port, and oil drain port, forming a complete transmission and protection system that ensures long-term stable operation.
The drum tooth is the core design highlight of this coupling. Its tooth surface undergoes special curved-surface machining, which effectively optimizes the tooth contact condition compared to conventional straight-tooth couplings, preventing tooth-end compression and stress concentration during operation, thereby reducing noise and extending tooth surface service life. The meshing engagement between the externally toothed sleeve and the flange internal gear ring constitutes the primary torque transmission mechanism, while the contact between the outer spherical surface of the load-bearing ring and the internal bearing surface of the flange internal gear ring forms a self-aligning spherical bearing, specifically designed to sustain the radial loads generated during equipment operation. With high-precision meshing, optimized tooth surface design, and comprehensive lubrication protection, the coupling achieves efficient and reliable power transmission under heavy-duty hoisting conditions, while extending equipment service life and reducing maintenance frequency.
