The WGC type vertical installation crowned gear coupling is a flexible coupling specifically developed for vertical shaft transmission systems. It is suitable for power transmission between electric motors and gear reducers, lifting equipment, and various vertically arranged drive units. In its structural design, full consideration is given to the special requirements of vertical installation, particularly in terms of lubrication, sealing performance, and load distribution. The coupling adopts an integrated structure combining the internal gear sleeve and sealing end cover, which enhances lubricant retention and minimizes the risk of grease leakage caused by gravity. This design ensures continuous and stable lubrication of the gear teeth. With its compact overall configuration and clear assembly arrangement, the coupling enables reliable installation even in space-constrained vertical layouts.
In terms of transmission performance, the WGC coupling features crowned external teeth with a spherical profile whose curvature center coincides with the gear axis, along with an optimized backlash design. This configuration provides strong compensation capability for angular, radial, and axial misalignments. Compared with conventional straight-tooth couplings, the crowned tooth structure improves tooth contact conditions under angular displacement, reduces localized stress concentration, and thereby lowers wear while enhancing load-carrying capacity. Under the same outer diameter conditions, its torque capacity is higher than that of straight-tooth designs, making it suitable for medium to high torque vertical transmission systems. Combined with high transmission efficiency and a stable load transfer path, this coupling demonstrates strong adaptability in metallurgical vertical equipment, mining hoisting systems, and large vertical machinery, ensuring smooth and continuous power transmission under demanding operating conditions.
