Its main structure consists of an outer sleeve with connecting flange, an externally toothed sleeve, an internal gear ring, a load-bearing ring with outer spherical surface, coupling halves, end covers, and a sealing system. The meshing engagement between the externally toothed sleeve and the internal gear ring of the outer sleeve forms a drum gear transmission structure, capable of efficiently transmitting driving power while compensating for angular misalignment between shaft systems through the special drum tooth design, reducing tooth surface stress concentration and ensuring smooth and reliable transmission. The contact between the outer spherical surface of the load-bearing ring and the inner bearing surface of the outer sleeve forms a self-aligning spherical bearing, which directly sustains the radial loads generated during operation without requiring additional support bearings, simplifying the overall transmission system structure.
The sealing system of the WJ type coupling adopts a dual-seal design combining end covers and sealing rings, commonly using fluoroelastomer skeleton oil seals, which can also be paired with a labyrinth seal structure to effectively prevent grease leakage while blocking dust, moisture, and other external contaminants, protecting the internal tooth surfaces and rollers from wear and corrosion, and ensuring long-term stable operation of the coupling in harsh environments. The internal and external gear mesh areas use oil bath lubrication; lubricating grease is injected periodically through the lubrication oil port to form a uniform lubricating film, reducing friction loss, lowering transmission noise, and extending service life. The ventilation port balances internal and external air pressure to prevent seal failure. The overall design takes into account transmission efficiency, durability, and maintenance convenience, making it an ideal choice for high-reliability transmission in heavy-duty industrial applications.
