The GIICLZ cylindrical gear coupling is an industrial connection device designed for long-distance shaft systems and heavy-duty transmission applications. Its structural feature lies in the use of a non-toothed half coupling sleeve on one side. It is typically used in pairs and connected through an intermediate shaft to transmit torque, making it suitable for operating conditions with relatively small angular misalignment but large shaft spacing. The overall structure is compact with low rotational inertia, which helps reduce inertial loads during system start-up and braking while maintaining stable power transmission.
The core assembly consists of an internal gear ring, a flanged half coupling with external teeth, an intermediate shaft, and sealing components. Key load-bearing parts are manufactured from high-strength alloy forgings such as 42CrMoA or 34CrNiMo6, with a tensile strength of no less than 1000 MPa. Combined with a high-rigidity intermediate shaft design, the overall structure maintains stability under extremely heavy-duty operating conditions, minimizing the risk of bending and deformation. The external teeth adopt a crowned profile, providing relatively larger backlash compared to straight-tooth designs. This not only enhances angular displacement capacity but also increases the contact area by approximately 40%–60% through a double-crowned meshing configuration, thereby reducing tooth surface stress and lowering the likelihood of pitting or tooth damage.
The gear teeth are typically subjected to deep carburizing and quenching treatment, achieving a surface hardness of HRC 60–64 while maintaining a core hardness of HRC 35–40 to ensure a balance between wear resistance and impact toughness. In combination with precision gear grinding technology, meshing accuracy is effectively controlled, resulting in reduced vibration and noise during operation. The transmission efficiency can reach 99.7% or higher. Owing to its structural strength, optimized meshing design, and high transmission efficiency, the GIICLZ cylindrical gear coupling is widely applied in heavy-load transmission systems such as metallurgy, mining, port machinery, and large-scale power equipment.
