The GCLD cylindrical gear coupling is a torsionally rigid yet flexible transmission component designed for direct motor connection applications. It is commonly used in high-speed drive systems where installation space is limited. Featuring a compact overall structure and good rotational balance performance, the coupling is capable of maintaining stable torque output under high-speed operating conditions. The assembly mainly consists of an internal gear ring, external gear hubs, an intermediate shaft, connecting bolts, and sealing devices. The distinguishing structural feature lies in the crowned profile of the external gear teeth, where the tooth tips are machined into a curved arc shape. Compared with conventional straight-tooth designs, this configuration provides distinct advantages in misalignment compensation and load distribution. The internal gear ring precisely meshes with the external gear hubs with high tooth matching accuracy, ensuring continuous torque transmission. The intermediate shaft connects and extends the transmission path, enabling stable power transfer between the two shafts. Sealing elements are typically made of oil-resistant rubber to prevent lubricant leakage while protecting the internal meshing area from dust and contaminants.
During operation, torque from the driving shaft is transmitted through the external gear hub to the internal gear ring and then delivered via the intermediate shaft to the driven shaft, forming a continuous and closed power transmission path. The crowned tooth profile allows the contact points to adjust automatically in response to axial, radial, or angular misalignment, thereby maintaining stable meshing even under high-speed conditions. Compared with straight-tooth couplings, this structure reduces edge loading and localized stress concentration at the tooth ends, while also absorbing vibration and mitigating impact to lower operational noise. With a transmission efficiency of up to 99.7%, the GCLD coupling minimizes energy loss while ensuring consistent torque transfer. Owing to its compact structure and suitability for high-speed direct motor coupling, the GCLD cylindrical gear coupling is widely applied in pumps, fan systems, compressors, and various types of high-speed rotating machinery.
